Hydraulic offset verge and ditch cutting for 20-40 HP compacts

Sit on the track and work the verge - the Winton W‑VF125 puts a 1.25m hydraulic-offset flail head outside the wheelbase. Smallholders and rural landowners tilt up a low hedge side or drop into a ditch without swapping machines, on a compact tractor.

DescriptionWhy buy the Winton W‑VF125 Flail Mower?

The W-VF125 is the narrower model in Winton's W-VF verge flail range. Same hydraulic offset and tilt geometry as the wider sibling, but a 1.25m head matched to 20–40 HP Cat 1 tractors and the tighter verges where a bigger machine would be too much.

Reach beyond the wheelbase

Two double-acting spools drive the right-hand hydraulic offset and the head tilt. The operator stays seated on the carriageway or track while the flail works the bank alongside. Tilt runs 90° up for the side of a low hedgerow and 50° down into a ditch or sloped verge.

Cut quality on rough and managed grass

Twenty-two hammer blades sit in a spiral pattern on the belt-driven rotor — three drive belts power the shaft. Heavier hammer flails and a heavier gearbox bite into overgrown weed; on regular passes over already-managed grass the same rotor leaves a finer finish.

Height control on uneven ground

An adjustable rear roller plus two height-adjustable skids set the cut between 3 and 8 cm and keep the blades off the high spots on a lumpy verge.

  • 1.25m working width — sized for tighter verges and smaller compact tractors
  • 20–40 HP tractor range, Cat 1 three-point linkage
  • Right-hand hydraulic offset, run from 2 double-acting spools
  • Cutting head tilts 90° up to 50° down from the same seat position
  • 22 spirally-arranged hammer blades on a belt-driven rotor (3 drive belts)
  • Adjustable rear roller and twin skids set a 3–8 cm cut height
  • 264 kg, 138 × 68 × 57 cm — PTO and hydraulic drive

The mower is tough enough for the job

I purchased the Winton WVF130 to manage a steeply terraced 3 acre vineyard. It has proved to be a reliable and successful way to manage the terraces and the mower is tough enough for the job.
