DescriptionWhy buy the Winton W‑FL175 Flail Mower?

When a smaller flail still leaves you doing too many passes, this is the step up. The W-FL175 is the largest and heaviest mower in Winton's W-FL range, with a 1.75m cut and a 309 kg frame that asks for a tractor in the 30–55 HP bracket on a Cat 1 three-point linkage.

Offset cut for awkward boundaries

The mower sits offset from centre, so you can run the rotor under fence lines, hedge bases and tree skirts without driving the tractor over them. Useful on paddock edges and orchard rows where a centred topper forces you to leave a strip.

Tough growth, fine finish

28 hammer-style flails sit on a spiral-pattern rotor, biting through overgrown grass, nettles and light scrub. Drop the height when growth is back under control and the same machine finishes paddocks and lawn-grade turf cleanly. PTO driven through three belts to the rotor shaft.

Anti-scalp on uneven ground

Cutting height runs 3–8 cm, set by the rear roller working with the top link, plus two height-adjustable skids underneath. The roller rides over humps and dips that would have a rotary topper scalping out bare patches.

  • 1.75m working width — the widest in the W-FL family
  • 309 kg weight, 30–55 HP tractor range — confirm your tractor is up to it
  • 28 hammer flails on a spiral-pattern rotor for tough growth
  • Offset from centre to reach under fences and hedge lines
  • 3–8 cm cutting height via adjustable rear roller and twin skids
  • Cat 1 three-point linkage, PTO driven, 60 cm lower linkage width
  • Belt drive to the rotor shaft (3 belts)
