Narrow mowing for 16-25 HP sub-compact tractors
Knock down brambles and rough pasture with 16 hammer-style flails that leave a finer chop than a topper. At 1.05m, the Winton W‑FB105 suits smallholders running a sub-compact tractor on tighter paddocks where a wider deck would bog or skip over the ground.
DescriptionWhy buy the Winton W‑FB105 Flail Mower?
If your tractor sits at the lower end of the power range, the Winton W-FB105 is the W-FB to look at. At 1.05m it's the smallest in the family, rated for 16-25 HP, and it slips through paddock gates wider decks won't clear. Belt-driven from the PTO, with 3 belts running power to the rotor shaft.
Finer chop on rough ground
16 hammer-style flails ride a cylindrical rotor and bite into brambles, weeds and tougher pasture growth. The cut comes out finer than a topper leaves it, and the mower handles uneven ground far better — useful on smallholdings where the surface isn't billiard-table flat.
Cut height and scalp control
Twin height-adjustable skids set the cut between 3 cm and 8 cm. The rear roller adjusts up or down alongside the top link to fine-tune the mower angle, so you hold a clean line over rises and dips without the blades catching dirt.
- Working width: 1.05m — narrowest in the W-FB range

- Cutting height: 3-8 cm via twin skids and adjustable rear roller
- Blades: 16 hammer-style flails on a cylindrical rotor
- Drive: belt drive, 3 belts to the rotor shaft
- Weight: 182 kg — check against your tractor's lift capacity

Review Your Winton W‑FB105
I would recommend the WFB125 flail mower to anybody, It's a fantastic bit of kit to have and easy to operate.
Great service
Good price Great delivery
I’ve used this Flail to cut our 6.5 acres a couple of times now, if I leave it too long between cuts then some parts of the field have a type of grass/reed that will wrap around the flail and stall the mower burning out the belts very quickly - so attention when using is required! – I’ve hit multiple rocks and the mower has coped with these no problem. All in all 4 out of 5, very happy price vs. performance, just wish I got a wider one!
I have only used the flail a handful of times since I bought it but so far it seems to work very well. Having said that, it hasn’t been worked hard so time will tell but so far I think it is a good piece of equipment for a reasonable price.
Brad a great machine. I run it behind a vintage MF35X for maintaining our three paddocks and the road verge. Does exactly what it says on the tin!
Has proved very effective cutting my lawn attached to a Ferguson TED20 I would rate it 5 out of 5. No problems as yet.
Works and is easy to use
Excellent bit of kit for the price! Couldn’t have asked for better. Our fields are so uneven so really is needed.
Excellent service and an excellent bit…
Excellent service and an excellent bit of machinery for a fair price. We’re really helpful with the delivery as we had to unload near our track rather than at the property. All in all a seamless service.
Very pleased with the purchase. Does what is stays on the tin - very good little mower.

I have been very pleased with both your level of service and the machine itself
I have been very pleased with both your level of service and the machine itself. It replaced a topper which had rusted out, and although it’s not as fast as that unit, it did cut very well if you went slowly over thick grasses. I would give it 5, as it would be unfair to compare it with a different product!
It is very robust and well made
The customer service on this machine has been first rate - informative, communicative, always checking things are okay. The machine itself is excellent and has done everything I had hope it would - it is also very robust and well made.
Tested item tonight and wow that’s going to save me some time :-) Thank you
Just as advertised
I've been very pleased with it
I've been very pleased with it. The mower part is excellent but I wonder about the the little stand; have to put a piece of wood under it to stop it sinking in soft ground. The spring on the prop shaft is quite strong and making fitting and detaching prop shaft a bit awkward but I do just have a mini Kubota tractor but all in all I'm happy

Thank you for your constructive feedback, Roderic. The stand is designed to keep the EFG stored at an easy-to-hitch angle when in storage. Usually storage will be in a barn or on hardstand where it works well, but I'm glad you've overcome the difficulties of storing on soft ground.
Great mower
This picture shows 4’ high brambles on the right and the swathe which has just been cut with one pass on the left.
Really pleased with the mower – it leaves a really nice clean cut even in heavy grass and we have done quite a few acres now – I think it is those nice heavy flails that give the clean cut and don’t stop at molehills and minor bumps.
Foton and flail mower earning it’s keep (see height of grass)
I am pleased to say the mower is working very well and I am very pleased with my purchase
I was using on Sunday, only short grass though, about 30-40 minutes, Blazing sun boiling hot and the little iseki never battered and eye, (would normally start to overheat within 30 minutes in half the heat with the woods rm48). Have to add surprisingly quiet and stable, with minimal vibration, very safe too, nothing flying out of it so good for around the greenhouses and polytunnels,
Have to say what a cracking bit of kit it is. At first I thought it may be a bit big and heavy for the tractor, but no, picks it up swings it about with no problems, would benefit with a bit of weight on the front of the tractor but not necessary for my use. Very easy on the tractor wasn’t working hard (unlike the old woods rm48 about to be scrapped) leaves a very good finish with the hammers and possibly could rival some finishing mowers if done correctly. I am really pleased with the mower, Excellent quality
