FTS 1.55m Tractor Rotary Tiller S‑FTL155

If you're working bigger plots than the narrower FTS siblings can sensibly cover, the S-FTL155 is the one to reach for. At 1.55m it takes a wider bite per pass, and it's rated for the upper end of compact tractors at 25–40 HP. Run it off the 540RPM PTO, lower in gently, and let the 32 left- and right-handed blades do the work.

Working the ground without bogging the tractor

Compacted ground rarely gives way on the first pass. Set the side skids shallow, run the rotor at 540RPM, and ease in at low forward speed. Come back for a second, deeper pass at the full 9 cm once the surface is broken. Avoid sodden clay — it clogs the rotor — and wait a day or two after heavy rain before going in.

Setting depth and finish

Both side skids are height-adjustable, so you dial the working depth up to 9 cm depending on how aggressive a pass you want. The rear flap drops or lifts to control how the soil leaves the machine — keep it down for a level seedbed finish, lift it for a coarser tilth.
