DescriptionWhy buy the Winton WHB‑A06 6" Auger?

The WHB-A06 is the 6-inch (15 cm) bit in Winton's four-auger range and the one most smallholders reach for when paddock fencing goes in. It bores a 90 cm hole — deep enough to seat a strainer below the UK frost line and give it the purchase to hold tensioned stock wire across a field run.

Hole size that matches the post

Standard timber strainers and stake posts sit naturally in a 6-inch bore. Go smaller and the post fights the ground; go larger and every hole eats concrete or backfill. For paddock perimeters, stock fencing, and field-shelter corners, 15 cm is the diameter that earns its keep.

Runs off the W-HBF main unit

This is an attachment, not a standalone borer. It fits the Winton W-HBF, which carries the drive and the frame. Estate managers and equestrian property owners already running the W-HBF behind a compact tractor or larger ATV have everything needed to put the WHB-A06 to work.

  • Working width: 15 cm (6 inch) — sized for standard paddock strainers and stake posts
  • Working depth: 90 cm — clears the UK frost line for tensioned-wire fencing
  • Tractor range: 20-50 HP — suits compact tractors and larger ATVs
  • Add-on for the Winton W-HBF hole borer main unit (sold separately)
  • Doubles for sapling and shrub planting on smallholdings
