Maintain Grass Areas with Wessex ATV Rotary Mower
DescriptionWhy buy the Wessex AR-180 Rotary Mower?
The drawbar can easily be off-set to one side, to allow the machine to cover one wheel of towing vehicle. All models of this ATV mower feature three overlapping rotors to eliminate uncut strips of grass and rigid cutterbar blades for durability.
Drive is transmitted to the rotors via two vee-belts and a centrifugal clutch. Both belts are tensioned simultaneously by one simple sliding action of the engine mounting bracket. The height of cut is set by repositioning the wheels by means of a spring-loaded pin mechanism on the wheel brackets. A turnbuckle on the drawbar allows the machine to be levelled at any cutting height.

The machine cuts really well
So the machine cuts really well. I cut about 7 acres of a grazing field. Over the time I have had it I have had to replace the drive belts twice. That is a pretty major job because the engine has to be detached from the chassis! Not a job if time is limited. I also had an issue with non-starting on one occasion and then found oil dripping from the exhaust. It appeared that when it had been tipped up during storage that oil had got into the petrol somehow. I sorted that and have had no problems since then. The final point is that if cutting grass in a field where the length of grass varies it is vital that the cutters are set high and that, I think, should be emphasised in your blurb about the machine in the manual. I hope that this is helpful.

We appreciate your detailed feedback. We will update the product description on our website and pass your comments on to Wessex so that they can make amendments to their manual.
It’s a pretty solid machine that does what it’s built to do.
It’s a pretty solid machine that does what it’s built to do. I’d rate it 4 - fuel tank is too small. If I could turn the clock back I should’ve bought a flail, would be more suited to my land and save a ton of time

Thank you for your feedback. For rougher land and dense vegetation, a flail mower is best suited, but for a neat finish on regularly cut grass, the Wessex AR series is exceptional.
