DescriptionWhy buy the Winton W‑WC Wood Chipper?
The W-WC is a manual-feed PTO chipper built for clearing prunings, hedge cuttings and woodland offcuts on a compact tractor. Branches up to 5" go straight onto a direct-drive flywheel carrying four reversible blades, with a single reversible bed blade set from outside the unit. No infeed roller. No hydraulics. Just a simple machine that turns brash into chip.
Built around a direct-drive flywheel
Four flywheel blades do the cutting against one stationary bed blade. All five are reversible — flip them when an edge dulls and you've doubled their working life before replacement. The bed blade adjusts from outside the housing, so you can dial the gap back to spec without stripping the machine down. Get that gap right and the chipper bites cleanly instead of clogging.
Practical on a smallholding
Swing the output chute through 360° to send chip into a trailer, onto a heap, or simply away from where you're standing. The included shear bolt PTO shaft protects the driveline if a stone or stubborn knot jams the flywheel. Feed is manual, so work steadily and chase heavy leafy material through with woodier branches to keep the output clear.

Review Your Winton W‑WC
Chipper is still with us, works well for wood, no good for anything with foliage though (leylandii / laurel ) blocks. Still, a lot cheaper than a trailer chipper so can’t complain.

Thank you for your detailed review. Chippers work best with woody material, and leafy evergreens are notoriously difficult. It is recommended to let leafy material dry out before chipping, or be passed through alongside large limbs, so that the thick branches can 'pull' the green waste through with it.
I would certainly recommend this to other customers, it is simple and is great for branches. There are only ever problems when chipping a lot of leafy material, which can lead to blockages.
We have been using the WWC 5 a lot through the last 2 years. Blades have held up well still sharp and producing a good chip. I would recommend to other people. I would rate the machine a 4 out of 5. Dropping a point due to the chute blocking when you try to chip green stuff, straight up wood no problem but as soon as you try either branches with leaves or conifer it does struggle a bit. But for its price point it is a great machine
Yes, we have had success with the machine, and we would definitely recommend it to others. We would rate the machine as 5 out of 5. We have used it several times, and it works very smoothly if we make sure we are alternating a mixture of softer branches/twigs (with leaves) and then in between firm hard thicker branches with less twigs, and keeping one long strong 4" branch to prod things if necessary, and of course always keeping arms and hands well away from the danger area. We have an orchard with many old trees that need pruning and sometimes replacing, so the chipper is often in use, and the wood chippings are ideal for covering muddy areas or pathways. We are very pleased with it.

Your feedback is appreciated, and that's the perfect technique to minimise blockages - feeding through any leafy material along with thicker branches.
The chipper is great. I use it for clearing the mounds of prunings from my 250 tree apple orchard. Very good with thick branches, less efficient with spindly ones. Occasionally clogs, but very easily cleared with minimal effort. Does not clog when on level ground, more inclined to clog when the machine is on a slope....for some reason. Like all machines I have ( including) the tractor, there is a learning curve on capabilities. I expect that. Overall, thus far, I would give 5 out of 5. A good solid piece of kit.
Does 5 inch diameter branches easy
Yes good tool, does 5 inch diameter branches easy. Rated 4* as its a pig to attach as pto that came with it was too long (had to be shortened )

Thank you for the feedback Michael, I'm glad to hear it's getting through the 5" branches. As all tractors are built differently, the PTO shaft that arrives is designed to be long enough to fit all tractors. Sometimes, PTO shafts have to be cut down, which is a straightforward process using everyday tools, and instructions on how to do so should have been included by Winton.
I was very impressed with the service I received from Zaros Machinery. Nothing was too much trouble and replies to my emails were prompt. Thank you.
I am very happy with the Wood Chipper
I am very happy with the Wood Chipper and I would recommend it to others. It is well made and easy to use. I would rate it 5 out of 5
Very good
Item arrived as described and works brilliantly. Thank you.
Very happy with the WWC, and it does exactly as I need
Very happy with the WWC, and it does exactly as I need. Seems to work best on material that’s had a chance to dry out a little, rather than freshly cut, but that’s not an issue. I’d rate the machine as 5/5. I’d certainly recommend the WWC, which was delivered promptly and has been pretty easy to set up, use and maintain. Even within an hour i’ve been able to eat through a significant pile of branches and fill a 3 tonne trailer! Ideal for the smallholder and larger garden with plenty of trees and shrubs.
The chipper has certainly been used a great deal
The chipper has certainly been used a great deal, on the whole it is very good but if there are any small whispy parts of the trees or bushes, they tend the block the shute which is frustrating, so it can only really be used to chip bigger sections of branches.

Chippers often have a hard time with thin wispy branches, but it can help if you load large pieces with the small, so that the larger pieces pull through the smaller ones.
I am delighted with the Wood Chipper
I am delighted with the Wood Chipper which I bought from you in March 2021. It does what I want it to do and I would recommend it to anyone. I make sure it is kept inside when not in use. I would most definitely score this Wood Chipper top marks, 5 out of 5.
The Winton Woodchipper has performed very well
