William Hackett 2.5kg Chain Harrow Weight H-HW250

The H-HW250 is a 2.5 kg ballast unit made for the William Hackett chain harrow range. It doesn't tine the ground itself — it forces the mat you already own to sit harder and work the surface properly when the bare harrow is riding over established thatch or moss.

When to add ballast

If the harrow is gliding rather than biting, the mat is too light for the surface. Adding weight presses the links down into compacted turf, breaks up matted thatch, and lets the existing tines do the work they were specified for. Pull the weights off again for routine spring grooming.

Sizing to your harrow

The rule is simple: 1 weight per 1 ft of working width. Order the quantity your mat dictates and scale up or down as the season demands.
