Wide-pass paddock levelling for ATVs and compact tractors
Cover larger grazing in fewer passes with a full 8 ft 3-way reversible bed. The William Hackett H‑HC08 flips between aggressive, medium and light tine work - levelling mole hills, aerating turf or spreading muck behind a tractor, ATV or 4x4.
DescriptionWhy buy the William Hackett H-HC08 Chain Harrow?
If you're managing sizeable paddocks and the narrower Hacketts feel like too many laps, the H-HC08 is the answer. At a full 8 ft, it's the widest pass in the range — fewer runs to cover the same grazing, with the same 3-way tine logic the family is known for.
Three tine positions, one harrow
Set the tines in their primary position for an aggressive bite — useful on stubborn mole hills. Turn them around for a medium pass. Upturn them for a light finish over delicate sward.
Pulls behind whatever you've got
The ring hitch and chain draft trail behind a tractor, an ATV or a 4x4 on a simple pin hitch. Handy on yards where the towing vehicle changes with the weather.
British build
Carbon steel throughout, with a heavy-duty steel tube drawbar and a welded-spacer attachment bar tying the mat to the draft. Made in Britain.

Review Your William Hackett H-HC08
I would rate it a 5
had the harrow chains a good while now and must say they are very well made, strong and do a great job they can smooth out ground soil one side and harrow ground, paddocks ect on the other side - if you add old spare tyres on top to add a bit of extra weight you can also ruff up the ground deeper to get rid of all lumps and bumps. We have used it on rough ground we are developing, paddocks ready for seeding and the horse arena to smooth out the surface ready for training. great product - strong build - just the job
I would definitely recommend the William Hackett B-HC06 6ft 3-Way British Drag Harrow. It is robust, does the job and was competitively priced. Add to that, it was an easy purchase from Zaro Machinery with a prompt delivery as promised.
I've used your chain harrow to open up my organic flower meadow - taking our some of the moss to help with increasing our orchid numbers. Worked a treat, wasn't too harsh on the soil - this year's orchids were amazing!. Easy to tow using my ATV. Many thanks
Well made, effective and easy to use set of harrows
The harrow has been easy to use, well-engineered , strong and extremely fit for purpose.
We havenever used another harrow so can't compare but we are pleased with the performance, it doea the job of breaking the ground in the paddock for seeding and is good at spreading horse manure.
The chain harrow has been a very useful tool for helping manage our paddocks. The different ways that it can be dragged make it flexible and allowing you to adjust how aggressive you want to be. The build is good quality and robust. It would be great if there was a way that it could be weighted to give a really deep/aggressive harrow. It is a 4 out of 5 piece of equipment.

Harrow weights can be purchased alongside the harrow, for a more vigorous and thorough effect.
I am happy with the harrows. I use them for a sand equine arena and they do the job they were purchase for. I would definitely score a 4/5.
Unfortunately we had far too much ragwort in the fields so we had to kill it all off then re plough the fields and re seed so basically we have not yet used the Harrow yet. That said looking at the Harrow it is a great quality and I would definitely recommend it to others.
Easy to use and the 3 harrowing positions make it really flexible in my 3 acre paddock. Tows happily behind a lawn tractor or (on a short extension strap to keep it on the ground) behind a Land Rover. For additional levelling effect, a railway sleeper can be tied to the bar to weight it down. A year on its still in great condition, just a small amount of surface rust (to my shame it’s stored outside on a couple of timber blocks to keep it off the ground). I’ve recommended to others.
My experience with the harrow is that it has worked well for my requirements, which are light harrowing of a number of paddocks. I would rate as 4 out of 5 for that type of work however if deeper/ more robust harrowing is required then to use the William Hackett harrow requires a weight to be strapped on. This enables the harrow to dig in slightly more and flatten out deeper indentations in the field.
I purchased a harrow and a roller from you over 12 months ago. Both of which arrived on time and were well packaged. I have an 8 acre small holding and tow the roller and harrow over my land behind a John Deere Gator and am thrilled with them both. They still look as good as they did when I bought them. I will use you again for sure.
Tough bit of kit. Does the job
