This towed leaf sweeper collector is robust in construction to withstand prolonged heavy use. British built by SCH with parts of the highest standard, this is probably the best value and one of the most effective sweepers on the market.
The sweeper may be used for grass collection after mowing, leaf collection and other garden debris. To achieve the best results when hard surface sweeping, a rubber strip can be fitted at time of manufacture (see accessories below).
The brush shaft is split in the centre acting as a differential. Therefore each drive wheel powers the sweeper brushes giving twice the performance and efficiency compared with one free wheel. The stainless steel brush shaft differential has an advanced method with grease nipple and spiral machined into the connecting pin for even distribution of grease.
Four rows of brushes, which are mounted on a hardwood stock, can be replaced once worn out by simply bolting new brushes directly onto the drive shaft without having to disturb the drive gear mechanism. If the sweeper is set at the correct height, the bristle tips just sit a fraction above the surface of the ground and will last a long time.
The all-metal drive mechanism is very durable for prolonged heavy use. The drive gears are less likely to strip apposed to nylon gears used in cheaper versions.

Review Your SCH TS98
The sweeper is ideal for us and the measure of its success is that it doesn't need to put in many operating hours to get the seasonal leaf sweeping done. For better or worse we also use the machine to sweep up wilted chopped grass behind our ride-on mower which has ceased to function as a "collector". Carry on development of the firm's innovative machinery.

Great Service indeed! My, My! Santa Claus Haulage (SCH) delivered the machine at 20.30 hrs LAST night. This will suit our program of grass and leaf clearance perfectly.
The build quality is exceptional and it does pick up most items, even small twigs. however there are a couple of minor disappointments one being the way you adjust the height on the brushes it does need quite a lot of effort, and because of the quality it is heavy to move. But overall I would say an excellent product

It has been extremely efficient with possibly two comments:- 1) under willow trees the small branch twigs wrap themselves around the outer axil, difficult to cut them out. 2) The extremely wet weather does not allow enough grip on the wheels, perhaps a more rugged dimple tread tyre (maybe wider) would improve its use in autumn when it is usually wet. Otherwise a well made machine
Thank you for your detailed and constructive feedback. While the machine will perform best in the dry, a higher height adjustment setting is needed in wet weather. The brushes should just 'tickle' the grass, as they are built to flick material into the hopper rather than scrape it in. This will reduce the force on the brushes, and the wheels shouldn't have a problem gripping the ground and driving the brushes.

So we mainly use the sweeper for grass collection and we run it behind our pto driven finishing mower and it collects the grass great and even gives us the lovely lines in the lawn which is great. For leaves unfortunately for us it dosnt work well, unless the grass is completely dry, if you use the sweeper on damp/ wet grass the thin tyres do not get any traction and then it leaves 2 wheel lines behind you as it rips through the turf!
I'm glad to hear that you're having success using the machine behind your finishing mower. For leaves, the sweeper works best collecting them when freshly fallen, and on reasonably dry, short grass. Based on your description of it "leaving neat lines in the grass", the brushes are likely set too low for when you're trying to collect leaves on wet grass. The brush height needs to be adjusted to 'tickle' the grass, and it's best to set them too high rather than too low. This lets the brushes flick the leaves into the hopper instead of the brushes manually scraping the leaves off the grass. If the brush is set too low, the force on the drive mechanism increases, which is likely why the wheels are cutting into the ground. Once the brush height is adjusted to the optimal position, the wheels can turn more freely, and you should have much more success!

I love this sweeper, best thing I have bought to help me in the garden, the ease at which this collects leaves is amazing, it made the job of clearing our huge garden so simple and effortless, this is far more effective than the previous sweeper I owned and is much more robust and effective, it sweeps at low speeds with great efficiency and its great quality and still looks new.
